MEET OUR OFFICERS

PADMANJALI POKHAREEL, PRESIDENT

The President serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organization, providing overall leadership and direction to all officers. As an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors, the President plays a key role in governance and strategy. They preside over Board meetings—unless another Chairperson is appointed—and ensure that both the Board and executive team work together effectively. The President oversees the day-to-day operations of the Foundation, represents the nonprofit in official capacities including public relations and fundraising efforts, and works closely with the Board and other officers to develop and implement the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic plans. Additionally, the President is responsible for carrying out Board resolutions, delivering operational updates at Board meetings, and signing official documents such as contracts and legal filings on behalf of the organization.

MADHAWA SHARMA, VICE PRESIDENT

The Vice President supports the President and plays a vital leadership role within the organization. In the absence of the President, or in the event the President is unable or unwilling to act, the Vice President assumes all presidential duties. Additionally, the Vice President may oversee specific committees or strategic initiatives and helps ensure that the Board and executive team operate effectively. They may also be assigned special projects by the President or Board of Directors and perform any other duties as prescribed by law, the Foundation’s Articles of Incorporation, Bylaws, or as directed by the Board.

SONA LAMICHHANE, SECRETARY/TREASURER

The Secretary is responsible for maintaining the official records of the organization, including meeting minutes, Bylaws, and other corporate documents. They ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to record-keeping and are responsible for sending notices of Board meetings and documenting Board decisions. The Secretary may also handle the filing of required reports with state or federal agencies. Additionally, they safeguard the Foundation’s official seal and have the authority to affix it to documents where required.

The Treasurer oversees the financial affairs of the Foundation, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. They are responsible for maintaining complete and accurate records of all the Foundation’s assets, liabilities, receipts, disbursements, gains, and losses, as well as all business transactions. The Treasurer submits proposed budgets and expenditures for approval by the Board and ensures that all financial practices adhere to applicable laws, policies, and regulations. They regularly present financial reports to the Board and assist in guiding financial decision-making. The Treasurer also manages tax filings, audits, and the preparation of financial statements, working closely with accountants, bookkeepers, and the Board’s financial committees as needed.
