anef'S MISSION

Despite vastly different contexts, rural schools in America and Nepal face similar challenges that hinder access to quality education, including aging and poor infrastructure, shortages of trained/certified teachers, lack of training and professional development opportunities for teachers, limited resources and public support, limited access to internet and technology, declining populations and enrollment, high absenteeism and dropout rates due to poverty and distance, educational disparities, socioeconomic barriers, and limited community engagement. 

 By partnering with donors, schools, educators, local governments/communities, and policy makers, America Nepal Educational Foundation (ANEF) is dedicated to raising funds for addressing challenges facing public/community schools in selected rural areas of America and Nepal.

ANEF’s mission is to advance educational excellence by raising and mobilizing funds to improve and modernize school infrastructure with well-equipped classrooms, computer and science labs, playgrounds, libraries, clean drinking water, proper sanitation facilities, electricity, internet connectivity and access to technology (i.e., remote learning and e-learning platforms), to provide training, professional development, and grants to teachers, and to provide scholarships and other financial support (such as free textbooks, supplies, uniforms, and meal programs) to students, especially students from underserved and socioeconomically marginalized families and communities. 

 ANEF is committed to bridging educational disparities, fostering lifelong learning, civic engagement and global citizenship, and to creating opportunities to ensure every child has access to quality education, regardless of geography, gender, ethnicity, disability and socioeconomic status, to reach her fullest potential in adulthood, both personally and professionally.
